We're Ken and Audrey, a father-daughter team of multigenerational Idaho farmers and entrepreneurs.

And as passionate fly anglers, we are dedicated to catch-and-release fishing and protecting our headwaters and trout habitats. That's why we created The Reel Deal Deck — exquisite hand-drawn playing cards that teach while you play.

We hope this deck sparks joy, conversation, and a deeper love for the sport.

Thank you for your support. Tight lines!

It began with a question

Fly fishing is full of beauty, tradition and endless learning. It is also full of hundreds of flies, each with its own name, purpose and history — exciting, and a little overwhelming even for experienced anglers.

Why is there no easy, enjoyable way to learn the names and varieties of flies?

Ken fishes with friends who can talk patterns, techniques and history all afternoon, and some of the finer details went over his head. He went looking for a set of fly-fishing flashcards to fix that, and could not even find one.

So he thought: why not make his own? And then came the twist — why not make them double as playing cards?

That became the prototype — and what started as a learning tool turned into something more fun and more giftable: a deck of playing cards carrying hand-drawn fly illustrations and a short note on each one, including what it imitates. The cards have already made Ken a more knowledgeable angler, which was the only proof the idea worked for a long time.

A small product with a big spirit

We think a product can do more than sell. It can teach, start a conversation, bring people together, and talk somebody into an afternoon outside. It is a small product with a big spirit behind it.

What we were trying to make

The test was whether the deck came out:

  • beautiful enough to gift
  • fun enough to actually use
  • informative enough to learn from
  • special enough to leave on a coffee table, in a cabin or in a gear bag

For anglers of every level, for the friend hunting a gift that feels personal, and for anyone who likes the art and the culture as much as the fishing.

Made in the USA

Printed by The United States Playing Card Company, in the United States, on Genuine Bicycle Rider Back stock with the patented Air-Cushion finish — a real deck of cards rather than board with rounded corners, because a deck of cards gets played with. Packed and posted by the two of us from Eagle, Idaho.

Conservation

Trout Unlimited Business member mark

We are an official Trout Unlimited Business member and have already made a financial contribution to their work — protecting and restoring the rivers, streams and watersheds that wild trout depend on. Supporting it is part of the point of the deck, not a badge added at the end. How that works.

Where things stand today

The deck is printed and ordering is open. Our Fly-brary is free either way — the whole contents of the deck, written out, whether or not you ever buy a thing. We are so glad you are here.

Who we are

A father and daughter, building this together.

Ken Fry

Co-founder · operations

A lifelong entrepreneur of more than thirty years and a fifth-generation Idaho farmer. The avid amateur fly fisherman who wanted a better way to learn, could not buy one, and thought other anglers would want it too.

Audrey Fry

Co-founder · brand & community

A sixth-generation Idaho farmer, and a December 2025 Entrepreneurship graduate of Loyola Marymount University's College of Business Administration. Brings the creative and marketing side — her own social content has run past 100,000 views — and is the reason this became a deck rather than a folder on a laptop.

That is the story. Here is the deck.

Fifty-four flies drawn by hand, printed in the United States, $19.95 a deck. Shipping is on us from two up, and a contribution from every deck goes to Trout Unlimited.
