We joined as a business member, and the mark is printed on the info card inside every deck. It is a membership, which any business can buy — not a partnership, a sponsorship or an endorsement, and Trout Unlimited has not vouched for this product.
A cut of every deck sold goes to Trout Unlimited. It comes off the decks we sell, not out of whatever is left at the end of the year.
What Trout Unlimited is
Trout Unlimited is a national cold-water conservation non-profit. It works on trout habitat: reconnecting streams that culverts and old dams cut in half, restoring the shade and gravel that spawning depends on, and arguing for water policy in rooms where anglers usually aren’t. It is unglamorous, long-horizon work on the exact resource this deck depends on.
Every fly in the deck imitates something that hatches in cold, clean, connected water. The habitat is the product, one step removed.
